Luer Lock syringes have a threaded hub, so the needle screws on and stays on. That matters whenever you are pushing against resistance — thick oily injectables, flushing a catheter, or a beast that moves at the wrong moment. The trade-off is a second or two more per dose, which is why plenty of people keep Luer Slip on hand for quick oral dosing and reserve Luer Lock for anything under pressure. Supplied without needles.
Available in 3mL and 5mL (boxes of 100), 10mL (box of 100) and 20mL (box of 50). Needles are sold separately — see Terumo Agani Hypodermic Needles. Part of the Terumo range.
Key points
- Threaded hub — The needle locks on and will not separate under pressure.
- Four volumes — 3mL and 5mL for small doses, 10mL and 20mL for larger volumes.
- Supplied without needle — Choose the gauge and length to suit the job.
Handling
Single use only. Do not re-sheath a used needle. Dispose of used sharps in an approved sharps container — never in household or farm waste. Sale and possession of hypodermic needles and syringes is regulated in some Australian states and territories; buy and use them in line with your local requirements.
