The West Paw Doggie Placemat is the mat that goes under the bowls, not the one your dog eats off — a 53 x 34cm Seaflex tray with a raised lip all the way round, stocked in Kelp Green, Marine Blue, Sea Fog Grey and Tropic Red. The underside grips the floor, so a dog that shoves its bowl across the kitchen finally has something to push against, and the rim catches what a messy eater flicks out, which is the difference between wiping a mat and mopping a room. Measure your feeding spot before you order. Fifty-three by thirty-four centimetres takes two standard bowls side by side and not much else; if you feed a large dog from two wide bowls plus a lick mat, you will run out of mat. It also sits flat and does not raise the bowls, so if you have been advised to feed your dog from a height, this is not the product for that.
