Read this before you buy the wet cat food
The Applaws Natural wet cat range is a complementary food, not a complete one. The ingredient list is deliberately tiny — typically just the named fish or meat, broth, and little else — which is exactly why cats like it and why it cannot carry a full vitamin and mineral profile on its own. Applaws says so on the pack: feed it alongside a complete wet or dry food rather than as the whole diet. It is excellent as a topper, a hydration boost or a way to tempt a fussy cat, and it is the wrong choice as a sole diet.
Broth, jelly or plain
In broth is lighter and more liquid, and tends to suit cats that need the extra water. In jelly sets around the meat. Plain fillets and tins are mostly just the named protein. Fussy cats are usually particular about texture rather than flavour, so if one is refused it is worth trying a different texture in the same protein before giving up on it.
