The Applaws Natural wet range is a complementary food, not a complete one. The ingredient list is deliberately tiny — usually just the named fish or meat, broth, and very little else — which is why cats take to it, and also why it cannot carry a full vitamin and mineral profile by itself. Applaws states this on the pack: feed it alongside a complete wet or dry food. As a topper, a hydration boost or a way to tempt a cat that has gone off its food, it is excellent. As the entire diet, it is the wrong choice.

Broth, jelly or plain

In broth is lighter and wetter, useful for cats that do not drink much. In jelly sets around the meat. Plain fillets are close to just the named protein. Fussy cats are usually fussy about texture rather than flavour, so if a cat refuses one, try the same protein in a different texture before writing the flavour off entirely.

Formats are pouches at 70g x 16 and tins at 70g x 24. There is a kitten tuna in jelly, and the whole-loin treats — mackerel, salmon and tuna — are single pieces of fish rather than processed shapes.
