Getting pee pads to work

Keep the pad in one spot, away from your dog's food and bed, and move it gradually towards the door if the long-term goal is going outside. Moving it around every day makes training slower.

Size matters more than it looks. A pad that is too small for the dog means misses on the floor, so for bigger breeds or puppies that circle before they go, pick the larger pad.

If your puppy shreds or drags pads, a holder keeps the pad flat and in place. Charcoal pads are the pick where odour is the main complaint, such as a small apartment.
