Farmers Mate 4 Pets produces air dried single-protein dog treats alongside a chilled roll range. PeekAPaw stocks the air dried bites in 100g resealable packs, in beef, chicken and kangaroo.
What air dried bites are good for — the pieces are small, which makes them practical for training, where you need to reward twenty times in a session without feeding a meal's worth of treats. Single-protein treats are also one of the few things you can hand out during an elimination diet without breaking the trial.
Choosing a protein — chicken is the lightest and suits small or older dogs; beef is the everyday option; kangaroo is lean and, for most Australian dogs, novel, which is why it turns up in diet trials. If you might need kangaroo as a novel protein later, use it sparingly now.
The chilled roll range is not stocked online — chilled products do not travel by post.
