PRO PLAN dog food from Purina is built around one idea: the right formula depends on your dog's size, age and what their body is coping with. At PeekAPaw the range covers adult and puppy chicken formulas split by breed size, plus three specialist lines.

Start with breed size, because kibble size and nutrient density both change with it. Small & Toy Breed comes in 2.5kg and 7kg with a small kibble; Medium Breed in 3kg and 15kg; Large Breed in 15kg with added glucosamine for joints carrying more weight. Puppy versions of all three mirror the adult formulas, so moving a dog across at twelve months is a straight swap rather than a diet change.

The three specialist lines are worth knowing before you buy. Sensitive Skin & Stomach leads on salmon and is the one to try when a dog is scratching or loose rather than the general chicken formula. Sensitive Digestion is the lamb equivalent, useful when chicken and salmon are both suspect. Performance in 20kg is energy-dense for working and sporting dogs, and will put weight on a dog that mostly sleeps on the couch. Bright Mind 7+ contains enhanced botanical oils that Purina formulates for cognitive function in dogs aged seven and over.
