Proudi is frozen raw food built on the prey model: at least 97% muscle meat, organs and finely ground bone, with 3% vitamins and minerals making up the balance. Every patty in the range is formulated to exceed AAFCO and FEDIAF nutrient levels, so these are complete meals rather than toppers — they are not meant to be fed alongside a kibble to make up a shortfall.
Choose by fat percentage rather than by flavour, because that is where the recipes genuinely differ. Kangaroo and Beef for dogs is the leanest patty Proudi makes at 5.9% crude fat against 14.2% protein, which is the one to reach for with a dog on a weight plan. The kitten recipe sits at the other end at 16.7% fat, because kittens and nursing queens burn energy far faster than adult cats. The single-protein recipes — beef, chicken, lamb — are the sensible place to start if you are working through a suspected food sensitivity with your vet; the combo patties suit pets with nothing to rule out.
Portions are set by the patty, not by a scoop. Dog boxes hold twelve 200g patties (2.4kg), cat boxes twelve 90g patties (1.08kg), and the puppy recipe drops to 100g so young dogs can be fed little and often. Raw is commonly fed at 2–3% of body weight a day for dogs and a little more for cats, so work from the per-patty calorie figure on each product page rather than assuming one patty is one meal. Thaw in the fridge rather than on the bench, and handle the patties as you would raw meat for people: separate board, and wash hands and bowls afterwards.
One thing to check before ordering — every Proudi variant is pickup only, because the patties have to stay frozen. If a freezer is the sticking point, Air Proudi is the same brand's air-dried range in shelf-stable bags rather than a frozen substitute.
