The Croton is the colour piece in Exo Terra's Forest Plant range — a hanging artificial plant with variegated foliage, mounted to the glass or the top of the terrarium so the cover sits at mid height rather than on the floor. It is the only one of the four we stock in all three sizes, which makes it the practical choice when you want the same plant repeated at different scales through a build. The replica trade-off holds: it does not transpire and so adds nothing to humidity, it produces no oxygen, and it never grows in. What it does is stay put and stay intact under misting, climbing and direct terrarium lighting.
Three sizes, Small, Medium and Large. The other three plants in the range — Ruscus, Abutilon and Mandarin — share the same hanging format and differ in leaf shape and colour, so choose on the photographs rather than the name. A Jungle Vine gives the climbing route the cover hangs over, a Forest Moss Mat handles the floor, and the rest of the range is in our Exo Terra collection.
Features
- Variegated foliage — the most colourful plant in the range, which reads differently against a dark background than the plain greens.
- Three sizes — the only Forest Plant we stock across Small, Medium and Large, so it scales through a build.
- Hangs rather than stands — puts cover where an arboreal species actually sits.
- Nothing to maintain — no water, no light, no dieback.
- Rinses clean — unclip, rinse, refit; suitable for quarantine enclosures too.
Specifications
Sizes Small (PT3000), Medium (PT3010) and Large (PT3020). Shipping weights 0.04kg, 0.06kg and 0.12kg. Exo Terra does not publish height, spread or drop measurements for the Forest Plant range and our supplier lists these only as Small, Medium and Large, so we have left the dimensions blank rather than estimate them.
