A full spectrum daylight T8 fluorescent tube, recommended by Exo Terra as the general light source for any terrarium type. It makes the enclosure look right, drives live plant growth and carries UVA, which Exo Terra links to appetite, activity and breeding behaviour. The limitation that matters: this is a daylight tube, not a UVB tube. A diurnal basking species needs a Reptile UVB100, UVB150 or UVB200 tube in addition, and it produces no heat, so basking warmth comes from a separate lamp.

Five sizes, and wattage and length go together: 15W is 45cm, 18W is 60cm, 25W is 75cm, 30W is 90cm and 36W is 120cm. Measure the inside of your existing fixture before ordering — a T8 tube only fits the length it was made for. This tube runs in any standard T8 fixture with a matching ballast. The compact screw-in version is the Natural Light Repti Glo 2.0 compact bulb, and the 75cm tube is also sold under its older name as the Repti Glo 2.0 T8 tube. More in our Exo Terra collection.
