The Rio 290 is the size Juwel added between the 240 and the 350 — 101 cm wide but 51 cm deep and 66 cm tall, so it holds 290 litres on a footprint only slightly larger than a Rio 180. The extra depth and height is what you notice: there is room to aquascape front to back rather than just left to right, and taller plants and larger fish have somewhere to go.
It is a complete set except for the cabinet. Everything below is in the box; the SBX Rio 290 cabinet is a separate purchase. Together they stand about 146 cm tall.

Before you order
A filled Rio 290 is around 350 kg with the cabinet, on a 101 × 51 cm footprint. On a suspended timber floor set it across the joists, and ideally against a load-bearing wall. Never put a mat or polystyrene under the tank — the safety base frame is designed to sit directly on the cabinet.
Also note the lighting is not dimmable. The MultiLux LED it ships with has no controller and no dimming. If you want sunrise and sunset ramps or colour control, budget for a HeliaLux Spectrum and AppControl as an upgrade.
