The same 280g high-energy block as the mealworm version, with herbs and garlic in place of the insects — Australian beef tallow, wheat, sunflower and millets. Peters positions it as a high-energy supplement for backyard laying hens and points to linoleic acid content in relation to egg size and production. Being a fat-based block, it earns its place in winter and through a moult more than in the middle of a hot summer.
If your flock needs the protein more than the aromatics, the Dried Mealworms block is the other option. See the poultry range.
Benefits
- High energy — beef tallow base for cold weather and moulting birds.
- Meat free — herbs and garlic rather than insects.
- Occupies the flock — a solid block hens have to peck at over time.
