ProfeLAC Gold sits in the upper part of ProviCo's tiered calf milk replacer range — above Silver and below Supreme. The tiers differ in formulation, and the higher ones are aimed at calves that will be reared entirely artificially and kept on milk longer, where what is in the powder does more of the work.
Choose the tier by the rearing system, not the shelf price. A replacement heifer reared to a target weight is a different job to a beef calf getting a short top-up, and ProfeLAC Beef exists for the second one.
Supplied as a 20kg bag.
Mixing
Mixing rate, water temperature and storage instructions are printed on the bag and matter more than most people expect — replacer mixed too strong, too weak or too hot causes scours. Colostrum in the first hours of life is not optional and no milk replacer substitutes for it.
