Luer Slip syringes use a plain push-fit hub. The needle presses on rather than screwing on, which is faster when you are working through a mob, and the open tip makes them easy to use needle-free for oral dosing of small animals and birds. They are not the right choice where you are pushing hard against resistance — a needle can pop off. For that use Luer Lock.
Available in 3mL, 5mL and 10mL, boxes of 100. For pressure work use Terumo Luer Lock syringes; needles are sold separately as Terumo Agani Hypodermic Needles. Part of the Terumo range.
Key points
- Push-fit hub — Faster to load and unload than a locking hub.
- Also usable needle-free — Handy for oral dosing of small animals and birds.
- Box of 100 — Three volumes, 3mL, 5mL and 10mL.
Handling
Single use only. Do not re-sheath a used needle. Dispose of used sharps in an approved sharps container — never in household or farm waste. Sale and possession of hypodermic needles and syringes is regulated in some Australian states and territories; buy and use them in line with your local requirements.
