Highly absorbent cotton wool with a gauze cover — the gauze is what stops the padding pulling apart into strings when it gets wet or when you are wrapping under tension. A 216g roll, 30cm wide and 1.8m long, individually wrapped.
Use it as the padding layer under a bandage, or as bulk absorbent material over a discharging wound with a low adherent dressing underneath. The gauze cover makes it easier to handle than loose cotton wool, but it is still padding rather than a wound contact layer.
