A hard, coarse-textured ledge that clips onto wire cage bars. It does two jobs at once: the surface wears teeth down as the animal chews at it, and once mounted it is also somewhere to sit, which is worth something in a cage with a wire floor.
Because it mounts to bars, it only works in a wire enclosure — there is nothing to clip to in a plastic tub or a solid-sided hutch. And it is abrasive by design: for an animal already dealing with sore mouth or overgrown teeth, ask a vet before adding one.
