Vet's Best Dental Gel Toothpaste is a non-foaming gel for daily brushing. Non-foaming matters more than it sounds: dogs cannot spit, so a paste that foams up is unpleasant and gets swallowed anyway. This one is formulated to be swallowed, needs no rinsing, and contains no fluoride or xylitol — both of which make human toothpaste unsafe for dogs.
Supplied in a 140g tube. It needs a brush: use the Triple Headed Toothbrush, the Silicone Finger Toothbrushes, or buy both together as the Dental Care Kit for Dogs.
Benefits
- No foam, no rinse — designed around the fact that a dog cannot spit it out.
- Peppermint and clove leaf oil — the breath side of the formula.
- Grapefruit extract and vitamin C — plant-derived actives rather than fluoride.
- Works on soft plaque — brushing before plaque hardens is the whole point; established tartar still needs a vet.
Ingredients
Purified water, glycerine, xanthan gum, polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monooleate, L-ascorbic acid, grapefruit extract, citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, natural flavouring, vitamin E, potassium sorbate, peppermint oil, clove leaf oil, sorbic acid.
How to Use
Apply a small amount to the brush and work along the gum line, inside and out. Several times a week at minimum; daily is what actually keeps plaque down. No rinsing needed.
