Abantel is Abbey Animal Health's intestinal wormer for dogs, combining oxantel embonate, pyrantel embonate and praziquantel in one tablet. It treats roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and adult tapeworm including Echinococcus, dosed at one tablet per 10kg of bodyweight.
Who it suits — the 100 tablet blister pack is priced for breeders, kennels and multi-dog households. A single pet household will get through it slowly and is usually better off with a small pack such as Cazitel.
Abantel treats intestinal worms only — it does not prevent heartworm and has no flea or tick activity.
