Interceptor Spectrum is Elanco's monthly beef-flavoured chew for dogs. Milbemycin oxime prevents heartworm while praziquantel clears tapeworm, so one chew covers heartworm, roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm including hydatid tapeworm. Four weight bands cover dogs up to 45kg, in 3 and 6 chew packs.
Getting the heartworm claim to hold — it depends on dosing every month without a gap. A missed month leaves a window, and a dog that has been off prevention should be heartworm tested before restarting.
Interceptor Spectrum has no flea or tick activity, so it is normally paired with Simparica or Neoveon Plus.
