A plain, general-purpose animal shampoo sold in bulk. It is the wash you keep by the hydrobath or the crush for routine cleaning of dogs, horses and cattle - the jobs where you get through litres and do not need a medicated or colour-enhancing product.

It is exactly that and nothing more. It is not medicated, not insecticidal, and not a whitening or colour-enhancing shampoo. If you are treating a skin condition, washing a grey for a show, or dealing with lice or ticks, buy the specific product instead - a general shampoo used for those jobs just wastes a wash.
Using it
Dilute according to the label, wet the coat through, work in and rinse until the water runs clear. Residue left in a horse's coat is the usual cause of post-wash itchiness, so rinse for longer than feels necessary, especially through the mane and tail. Keep out of eyes.
