Tap water is treated to be safe for people, which is exactly what makes it unsafe for fish. This conditioner removes chlorine and chloramines, neutralises heavy metals, and adds a slime-coat protectant — the same chemistry as a full-size conditioner, in a bottle sized for a betta tank rather than a 200 L aquarium.
When to use it
- Every water change, before the water goes in.
- Setting up a new tank.
- Moving or transporting a fish, when the slime coat takes a knock.
Dosage — follow the directions on the bottle. Hagen does not publish the dose rate online, so we have deliberately not guessed at one here.
