Hole size and how to feed

The teat has no hole when it arrives. Pierce the tip with a hot needle to about 1 mm in diameter and check the flow: milk should drip slowly from an inverted bottle. A very small animal can be fed from a syringe with the teat pulled over the end, so the plunger sets the rate rather than the animal. Guidance should be obtained from experienced carers on correct feeding technique. Wash, dry, and store away from light.
